Red Arch Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician to support our mission at Patrick Air Force Base near Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform field and back-shop maintenance sensor, and processing and communications systems
  • Comply with OSHA guidelines and standards to maintain a safe workplace
  • Read blueprints, and technical drawings, install, maintain, repair, and replace wiring and control systems, inspect electrical components, troubleshoot electronics and identify electrical problems using test devices
  • Resolve installation, repair, overhaul, and modification problems associated with field equipment
  • Use layout drawings, schematics, and pictorial diagrams to solve maintenance problems
  • Analyze construction and operating characteristics of equipment to determine source of malfunction
  • Perform intricate alignment and calibration procedures to ensure maximum operating efficiency
  • Determine repair procedures necessary to correct defective equipment
  • Check equipment for serviceability prior to installation to include assembling, connecting, securing, and interconnecting components
  • Test installed equipment for proper assembly of components and compliance with technical instructions
  • Refer to plans and equipment specifications to conduct site and equipment surveys, and establish equipment systems interface
  • Unpack, inspect, and position communications equipment; erect antennas; and interconnect communications facilities
  • Follow, maintain, and suggest corrections to technical documentation IAW USAF, AFOSH, and OSHA standards
  • Follow maintenance documentation procedures by filling out tags and forms regarding equipment serviceability, repair actions, inventory and configuration management, and material deficiencies
  • Responsible for maintaining inspection and maintenance records
  • Post entries on maintenance and inspection records
  • Record meter readings and other pertinent data in equipment logs
  • Complete maintenance data collection forms
  • Provide assistance with intra-site and long-haul communications to include SATCOM, terrestrial, and wireless networks

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of/or working experience with command line, documented Linux or Unix training, or a Linux or Unix certification
  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and standards to maintain a safe workplace
  • Maintenance management to include records, repair, material, and testing responsibilities
  • Knowledge of DOD and DISA policy
  • Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, in addition to interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished orally or in writing - Network design, planning, installation, and testing
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move tools, parts, and equipment up and down stairs and ladders, in and out of large trucks, and across facilities both inside and on rooftops
  • Normal color vision
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and lift up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and/or stand and walk for extended periods

  • AFTAC experience
  • Knowledge of/or working experience with Linux or Unix platforms
  • Knowledge of intra-site and long-haul communications to include SATCOM, terrestrial, and wireless networks - USPDS Experience
